Stan Collymore believes Manchester City are still favourites to win the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool FC this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are sitting at the top of the Premier League table following a 100 per cent start to the 2018-19 season.
The Merseyside outfit were 4-0 winners against West Ham United in their Premier League opener at Anfield.
Liverpool FC edged to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night to lay down a marker in the title race.
Klopp’s men hoisted themselves above Manchester City after a 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday afternoon following the defending champions’ 1-1 draw with promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Jurgen Klopp has improved the Liverpool FC defence over the past nine months with the additions of some key personnel.
Virgil van Dijk moved in a £75m deal to bolster their centre-half options before Brazil number one Alisson Becker sealed a £67m switch.
Liverpool FC finished 25 points behind Manchester City in the title race last term to highlight the gap between the two teams.
Former Liverpool FC striker Collymore believes the Citizens remain favourites to win the Premier League title this term.
“It still might not be enough to win the league this year,” Collymore told the Daily Mirror.
“When you look at some of the other top clubs, Manchester City are probably a 9/10 or even a 9.5/10 for squad depth and strength.
“Manchester United are probably the same as Liverpool but just being managed differently.
“But Manchester city are still clear favourites to win this Premier League. Clear favourites.”
Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco star Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita and Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.
