Ian Wright believes Liverpool FC will push Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race.

The Reds have signed four new players in the summer transfer window following their Champions League final disappointment.

Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco star Fabinho and RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita to improve their options in the middle of the park.

The Merseyside outfit have also signed Swiss playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri in a £13.5m from Stoke City.

Liverpool FC finished their summer spending with the £67m addition of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.

Former Arsenal striker Wright is backing Liverpool FC to challenge for the Premier League title.

Wright told BBC Sport: “The business they’ve done and the way they’ve done it… I want to tip them because they are moving in the right direction.

“They have a manager who the players have faith in. They have fans who will keep the team going.

“The massive signings will give them the confidence to go forward again and challenge Man City. I do believe Liverpool will be closer.”

The Reds signed AS Monaco star Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita and Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against the Hammers courtesy of goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge.
