Gary Neville predicts where Liverpool FC, Man United will finish
The Manchester United legend believes Liverpool FC are in pole position to finish in second place in the Premier League table
Gary Neville has admitted that Liverpool FC look more likely than Manchester United to finish in second place in the Premier League table last term.
The Red Devils suffered a 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium to heap pressure on Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United are three points adrift of Premier League champions Manchester City, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur.
Jurgen Klopp’s side capitalised on Manchester United’s setback on Monday night thanks to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Liverpool FC have only finished in second place three times in the Premier League era, while Manchester United ended up in the runners up spot last term.
Former Manchester United defender Neville admitted that Liverpool FC are in pole position to finish behind defending champions Manchester City this season.
“At the moment I’d say Liverpool but I am hoping Man United get their act together,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“Settle into a shape and formation. Get a run of results. It is a big game next Monday to get back on track.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the 20-time English champions.
The Red Devils will host title rivals Tottenham in their next Premier League game at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The 20-time English champions signed Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant.
