Adam Lallana believes that Liverpool FC have what it takes to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

The Reds are still looking to win their first major trophy since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015 following Brendan Rodgers’ dismissal.

The Merseyside outfit earned plenty of praise for their strong performances last season as the Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table.

Liverpool FC were also in impressive form in Europe as they reached the Champions League final last season but ended up losing to Real Madrid back in May.

The Reds have been busy in the summer transfer window, with Klopp having brought in Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker ahead of next season.

And Lallana feels that the Reds will now hopefully be able to establish themselves as one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season.

Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Mirror, Lallana said when asked if Liverpool FC will be one of the favourites for the title: “That’s not for us to say, that’s for other people to speculate. But, of course, we’re going to be in the pack who want to chase down City.

“Hopefully, Liverpool and three or four of the other top teams can squeeze a few more points out of City this year and that would make it more interesting.”

Liverpool FC ended up in fourth place in the Premier League last term as they secure a spot in the Champions League this season.

Lallana will be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the first team next season after having struggled for form and fitness last term.
