Gary Neville makes honest admission about Liverpool FC star
Gary Neville says Virgil van Dijk can develop into the best defender in the world at Liverpool FC

Gary Neville believes that Virgil van Dijk has the potential to develop into the best defender in the world following his strong form for Liverpool FC.
The Netherlands defender has just begun his first full season at Anfield after having signed for the Reds from Southampton in the January transfer window.
Van Dijk has been earning lots of praise for his solid displays at the back for Jurgen Klopp’s men, and he helped the Merseyside outfit to keep their second clean sheet of the season on Monday night as they notched up a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.
The centre-half will be hoping to step his game up for the Reds in the coming weeks and months as he bids to try and help the Merseyside outfit challenge for the major trophies this season.
At 27 years old, Van Dijk still has plenty of his career ahead of him to improve his game.
Former Manchester United star Neville feels that Van Dijk has the potential to develop into one of the world’s best, but insists that he still has a significant way to go.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Van Dijk said: “It is a little bit early to say Van Dijk is the best defender in the world.
“Ramos and Varane are by far the best they have won four Champions League in the last year. The potential is there.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday evening when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield.
