Jurgen Klopp admits new Liverpool FC signing is still not ‘fresh’
Jurgen Klopp admits that it is taking Fabinho some time to adapt to life at Liverpool FC
Jurgen Klopp has admitted that it is taking time for Fabinho to adapt to the rigours of life at Liverpool FC.
The Brazilian midfielder signed for the Reds back in May as the Merseyside outfit moved quickly to start bolstering their squad by completing a deal to land him from Monaco.
Fabinho has been getting to grips with life at his new club as he looks to swiftly adapt to life at Liverpool FC and make a big impact during his first campaign in the Premier League.
Liverpool FC have been busy in the summer transfer window as Klopp brought in Fabinho along with Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker ahead of the new campaign.
Klopp has been happy with the impact the new boys have made so far in pre-season, but he admits that Fabinho still has some way to go before being fully fit ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro after Liverpool FC’s 5-0 win over Napoli at the weekend, Klopp said: “I am really happy with the new players.
“Fabinho, much better in offensive pressing, but still struggling a bit as [he is] not fresh enough. It’s been a hard pre-season for him.
“Shaqiri comes on as a nine and looked really good. He can play as a 10 and on the wing. It was fantastic what he did.
“Naby played 50 minutes at the highest level and then left some gaps open, transition in defence could be better, so many things to work on.”
Liverpool FC will be aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season after they finished in fourth place and without a trophy last term.
