The Reds are getting ready to kick off their new campaign when they host West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as Jurgen Klopp bids to steer the Merseyside outfit to a genuine title challenge.
Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
The Merseyside outfit have been earning plenty of praise for their strong performances under Klopp in recent season and they reached the Champions League final last term in style.
Now, Brazil legend Pele seems to think that Liverpool FC are well placed to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title as they look to end Klopp’s wait for a trophy.
Pele wrote on Twitter: “It’s the start of the @PremierLeague today. Who do you think will win? I think it’s the year of Liverpool, Alisson and Firmino!”
Liverpool FC were busy in the summer transfer window as they brought in Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Allison Becker ahead of the new campaign.
The Reds reached the Champions League final in style last season but ended up losing to Real Madrid in the final in a 3-1 defeat in Kiev back in May.
