Liverpool FC are considering a swoop to sign Barnet's 20-year-old goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle, according to a report
Liverpool FC are weighing up a bid to sign Barnet goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the non league shot stopper is attracting interest from the Champions League runners up ahead of the new Premier League season.
The same article states that McKenzie-Lyle featured for Liverpool FC’s Under-23 side in a pre-season friendly last week with view to a permanent move to the Anfield side.
According to the same story, Liverpool FC are interested in signing the 20-year-old as cover for world record signing Alisson Becker for the 2017-18 season.
Liverpool FC signed the Brazil number one in a £67m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma to cast doubt on the futures of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet at Anfield.
Karius made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga side Real Madrid in the Champions League final to prompt criticism of the German goalkeeper, who was signed in a £4.7m deal from Mainz in 2016.
FC Barcelona are thought to be interested in a deal to sign Belgian goalkeeper Mignolet as back up after Liverpool FC paid £9m to Sunderland for the inconsistent goalkeeper back in 2013.
