Stan Collymore identifies where Liverpool FC need signing
The Liverpool FC legend believes the Reds need one more attacker to bolster their attack
Stan Collymore believes Liverpool FC could do with one more proven goal-scorer to provide cover for Roberto Firmino.
The Brazil international has become a mainstay of the Liverpool FC team under German head coach Jurgen Klopp over the past three seasons.
Firmino moved to Liverpool FC in a £29m deal from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim in the 2015 summer transfer window under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.
The South American forward produced his best form throughout the 2017-18 season after Firmino finished with an impressive return of 27 goals in 54 games in all competitions.
Firmino hasn’t got on the score sheet in Liverpool FC’s opening three Premier League victories but the Brazil forward has contributed to their winning start to the season.
Former Liverpool FC striker Collymore believes the Reds could do with one more attacker to ease the pressure on Firmino.
“What I would say is, Firmino has been top quality,” Collymore told the Daily Mirror.
“Liverpool fans love him, I love him, he runs around, work rate is great but I do wonder, if Jurgen Klopp was being super greedy whether there is a top quality centre forward that could improve Liverpool, if he would move for one.”
Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against West Ham in their season opener courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge.
James Milner and Mane got on the score sheet to help Liverpool FC ease to a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace earlier this month.
PFA player of the year Salah netted a first-half winner in Liverpool FC’s 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion last Saturday.
