Virgil Van Dijk has outlined his targets for the team this season after their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday.

Jurgen Klopp’s team are sitting pretty at the top end of the table this morning after securing maximum points from their opening two Premier League games.

A 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park on Monday evening gave Liverpool FC a well earned three points and resigned Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace to their first defeat of the new season.

Klopp has tried to play down expectations of a title challenge in recent weeks but with the summer arrivals of Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alisson and Xherdan Shaqiri, supporters are hopeful that their team can dethrone Manchester City come May.

Virgil Van Dijk echoed his manager’s sentiments post-match, however, preferring to stay grounded at this stage rather than get carried away with dreams of winning the Premier League.

Van Dijk told Liverpool FC’s website: “For success, you need to do it all together, you win and you lose together. But obviously we are trying to work hard every day and hopefully, we are going to keep on building on this and just keep going – that’s the only thing for it and be positive.

“Obviously we know it is going to be a very tough season so we need to be confident but not underestimate anyone. We will just recover from this and be ready for the next game.”

Liverpool FC host Brighton on Saturday in their next game of the 2018-19 campaign and they will want to continue their current hot streak by producing another impressive performance against Chris Hughton’s side.
