Mark Lawrenson predicts Liverpool FC v Brighton
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Liverpool FC to beat Brighton 3-0 at Anfield this weekend
Mark Lawrenson is backing Liverpool FC to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening.
The Reds have made a flying start to the new campaign and have won both of their opening games against West Ham United and Crystal Palace to leave them second in the table behind Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp has been tasked with steering the Reds to a genuine Premier League title challenge this season as they look to try and win their first trophy under the German manager this term.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the table last term and without a trophy as they also reached the Champions League final but lost to Real Madrid.
The Merseyside outfit are preparing to welcome Brighton to Anfield this weekend as they look to continue their strong start to the new campaign.
And Lawrenson is tipping the Reds to claim all three points when they host the south coast club at Anfield this weekend.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Brighton are going to be all right this season. They have a great ability to put bad displays behind them.
“They turned in a bit of non-performance against Watford on the opening day, failing to manage a shot on target. They were able to put that behind them though and tear into Manchester United at the Amex in a superb winning performance.
“But Liverpool are flying. Not just in terms of the results that they have got, but also in terms of their pace of play. It is very difficult to cope with.”
Liverpool FC reached the Champions League final in style last season but ended up slipping to a disappointing 3-1 loss to Real Madrid back in May.
