Alexis Sanchez has made a return to training ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

The Chile international was sidelined with a mystery injury problem for the Red Devils’ trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday evening.

Manchester United suffered a 3-2 loss to Brighton despite goals from Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba at the Amex Stadium.

Sanchez has hardly set the world alight since his move to Manchester United in a swap deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The South American forward failed to get on the score sheet in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City at Old Trafford earlier this month.

Sanchez scored his first FA Cup goal in a 2-1 win against Spurs in the semi-final at Wembley back in April.

The Manchester United striker took to Instagram to provide an update on his injury status ahead of the visit of Spurs next Monday.

Sanchez wrote on his Instagram story: “Training to be back soon. Come on United.”

Manchester United are already three points adrift of defending champions Manchester City, Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto Diogo Dalot and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant in an otherwise frustrating transfer window.
