Victor Lindelof isn’t good enough to play for Manchester United, Kevin Kilbane has claimed.

The Red Devils suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Sunday evening.

Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba got on the score sheet but the Red Devils produced a disappointing performance.

Manchester United signed Lindelof in a £30m deal from Portuguese giants Benfica in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Lindelof struggled to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League in his first season at the 20-time English champions.

The Manchester United star started their opening two Premier League games of the 2018-19 campaign.

Lindelof struggled badly in their 3-2 loss to Brighton alongside Eric Bailly at the Amex Stadium.

Former Irish defender Kilbane delivered a withering verdict on Lindelof after Manchester United’s 2-0 loss

“He simply isn’t good enough,” Kilbane told Newstalk.

“Lindelof isn’t the calming influence that Bailly needs alongside hm. He hasn’t been good enough”

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

The Red Devils finished in second spot in the Premier League table last term but ended up 19 points adrift of Man City.
