Alexis Sanchez: What I really think of new Man United signing Fred
Alexis Sanchez praises Fred for the solid start he has made to life at Manchester United
Alexis Sanchez has revealed that he has already been impressed by Fred’s impact at Manchester United since his move to the club this summer.
Fred was one of three new arrivals at Manchester United in the summer transfer window as he moved to Old Trafford along with Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.
The 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils as he started and played 76 minutes of Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City in the top flight last week.
Sanchez played for the full 90 minutes as Jose Mourinho’s men kicked off their new campaign with a narrow victory over the Foxes in front of their home fans.
And the Chile international has admitted that he has been very impressed by what he has seen from his fellow South American since his move to Old Trafford earlier this summer.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Sanchez said: “I think he has a direct style of play – he goes forward.
“It is very important for the group, for all of us, to get to know him better.
“He has been with us for a short time, but you can already see that he is a player who wants to win, who wants to achieve things. He went to the World Cup and he is going to be an important addition to the team.”
Both Sanchez and Fred will be expecting to start for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils ended up in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season under Mourinho.
