Sky Sports reporter delivers update on remaining Man United signings
Jose Mourinho is not happy with Man United's transfer business so far this summer, according to Michael Bridge
Manchester United have stepped up their interest in signing Harry Maguire this summer because Jose Mourinho is not happy with the Red Devils’ transfer business, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players this summer but have so far only tied up deals for Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant.
Mourinho is likely to be keen to further bolster his squad this summer as he prepares for his third season in charge of the Old Trafford outfit.
The Portuguese coach is aiming to lead Manchester United to a genuine Premier League title challenge next season after they finished second and without a trophy last term.
And Sky Sports reporter Bridge has confirmed that the Red Devils’ interest in Leicester City defender Maguire has come about due to Mourinho’s dissatisfaction with the club’s summer transfer business so far.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Bridge said: “Mourinho isn’t happy with what he has at the moment.
“The Maguire news [Man United’s interest] isn’t a huge surprise.”
Manchester United will be aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season as they look to try and win the trophy for the first time since 2013.
The Red Devils won both the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first season at the club.
