Mateo Kovacic is not interested in a transfer to Manchester United from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by ESPN, is reporting that Manchester United are keen on a move to bring Kovacic to Old Trafford this summer but the player himself is not wanting a move to the club.

According to the same story, Manchester United have made a €60m bid for the Croatia midfielder, but the player himself is not interested in joining Jose Mourinho’s side.

Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings still this summer as the Red Devils look to try and assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

According to the same report, Kovacic is still keen on a transfer away from Real Madrid this summer but he doesn’t see Manchester United as a good fit for him.

Manchester United kick off the new Premier League season when they take on Leicester City next Friday night in their first game of the season.

The Red Devils ended last season in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy in what was Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
