Manchester United will look to revive their bid to sign Lorenzo Pellegrini from AS Roma in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils could be set to make a fresh bid to try and land the midfielder in the mid-season transfer window after having been linked with a move for the 22-year-old over the summer.

The same story says that Pellegrini was among Manchester United’s transfer targets this summer but the Red Devils did not follow through on their interest.

However, according to the same report, there are some serious doubts as to whether Jose Mourinho will still be in charge at Manchester United by January.

Despite the report linking Manchester United with a move for Pellegrini, the same story says that signing a new centre-half remains as the club’s priority in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Monday night when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils slumped to a 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion in their second game of the season last weekend.
