Ian Wright has taken to social media to praise Luke Shaw after the defender helped to fire Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Leicester City in their opening Premier League game of the season on Friday night.

Shaw’s future at Old Trafford has been something of a source of speculation recently due to his lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

However, the left-back has been working hard on his fitness levels over the summer months and he started Manchester United’s clash against the Foxes on Friday night.

Shaw netted Manchester United’s second goal at Old Trafford as he helped Mourinho’s men to claim the three points in their Premier League opener.

And Arsenal legend Wright has admitted his delight at seeing the defender hit some good form for the Red Devils after his recent struggles.

Wright wrote on Twitter: “Couldn’t be happier for him. Keep it going Luke. 👍🏾.”

Shaw will be hoping to hold down a regular starting spot at Manchester United in the coming season as he bids to help the Red Devils mount a serious Premier League title challenge.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term under Mourinho.
