The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 25-year-old defender to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his options at the back ahead of next season.
Manchester United will kick off the Premier League season when they take on Leicester City in the first game of the new campaign next Friday night.
And former Manchester United defender Neville has cheekily suggested that Maguire could be set to line up against Jamie Vardy in next week’s curtain raiser.
Neville wrote on Twitter: “9 days to go till the Premier League starts again on @SkySports with the return of Friday Night Football where I will join @KellyCates and the lovely @Carra23 . It’s @ManUtd v @LCFC can’t wait
“P.S Maguire v Vardy 😉”
Manchester United have signed three players so far this summer after the Red Devils ended up in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.
The Red Devils will be aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season as they look to try and win the title for the first time since 2013.
Manchester United won both the Europa League and League Cup last term under Mourinho.
