Fred sends advice to Mourinho’s squad ahead of Man United v Tottenham
The Man United summer signing believes the Red Devils need to make amends for their loss to Brighton last week when Spurs visit on Monday
Fred has warned Jose Mourinho’s squad to maintain their focus ahead of Manchester United’s home clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
The Red Devils have made a difficult start to the season to heap pressure on Mourinho and the Manchester United team after two Premier League games.
Manchester United were 2-1 winners against Leicester City to make a solid start to the Premier League campaign under the Portuguese head coach.
However, the Red Devils suffered a 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion in their second Premier League fixture at the Amex Stadium last weekend.
Manchester United are already three points adrift of defending Premier League champions Manchester City and their bitter rivals Liverpool FC.
Tottenham have won their opening two Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United and Fulham.
Speaking to Sky Sports about their upcoming clash against title rivals Spurs, Fred said:
“The Premier League is a great league and there are a lot of great teams and Brighton were better than Man United.
“They got early goals which we didn’t manage to achieve, we improved but unfortunately this wasn’t enough for a win or a draw.
“Going into the next game we want to be focused and we want to win so we can stay in the race for the title.”
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term but ended up a staggering 19 points adrift of champions Manchester City.
The Red Devils signed Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer after he was previously linked with a move to the Eastlands outfit.
