Paul Merson states his prediction for Man United v Tottenham
The Arsenal legend is backing Manchester United to edge to a 2-1 win over Spurs on Monday night

Paul Merson is backing Manchester United to win their “huge match” against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
The Red Devils will welcome their Premier League title rivals to Old Trafford on Monday night looking to bounce back from their disappointment at Brighton last weekend.
Manchester United edged to a 2-1 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford in their Premier League opener earlier this month courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw.
The Red Devils suffered a huge setback last weekend after Brighton eased to a comfortable 3-2 win over Manchester United at the Amex Stadium last weekend despite goals from Romelu Lukaku and Pogba.
Manchester United are already three points adrift of defending Premier League champions Manchester City, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and Tottenham in the title race.
The Red Devils have beaten Spurs in their last two Premier League meetings at Old Trafford since Jose Mourinho took over the reins from Louis van Gaal in May 2016.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes Manchester United will beat Tottenham at Old Trafford on Monday night.
“Huge match,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Over the last three or four years, you see Manchester United turn it on in these type of games, when the pressure is on. They’ve done it to Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, everyone.
“I don’t know how they do it. I’ve seen this so many times.
“Manchester United finished in second spot in the Premier League table last term as the Red Devils secured their best result for a season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.”
Merson added: “Jose Mourinho will tell them to go out and prove they’re good enough to play for the biggest club in the world. Because that’s what they are, in my opinion.”
