Manchester United are leading the race to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro after Paris Saint-Germain missed out on the chance to sign the Brazilian star, according to a report in England.

Italian media outlet Tuttosport, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that PSG have ended talks with Juventus over a deal to sign the South American full-back.

The same article states that it was the Italian champions who decided to pull the plug on talks with PSG after Juve decided to retain Sandro’s services for another campaign.

According to the same story, Manchester United’s hopes of signing Sandro have been boosted after the Red Devils were concerned that their best chance to sign the Brazilian had gone.

The South American defender has been regularly linked with a move to Chelsea FC and Manchester United on a regular basis over the past few transfer windows.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but ended up 19 points adrift of champions Manchester City to highlight the widening gap between the two derby rivals.

The Red Devils signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant in the 2018 summer transfer window.
