Manchester United are lining up a late £65m bid to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on a move to bring the England defender to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes this week.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move to bring Maguire to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to try and bolster his defensive options before the transfer window closes.

The same article says that Leicester City are closing in on two deals to sign centre-halves this summer as they line up potential replacements for Maguire.

Maguire earned plenty of new admirers for his strong performances for England at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

According to the same report, Maguire is Mourinho’s most “realistic” option of signing a new defender before the close of the transfer window on Thursday.

The Red Devils are looking to add to their squad as they bid to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

Manchester United finished in second place and without a trophy last season under Mourinho in his second campaign in charge.
