Journalist gives Man United transfer update on Ivan Perisic
BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone rules out Man United signing Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic
Manchester United won’t sign Croatia star Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone.
The Croatian winger has been regularly linked with a potential move to Manchester United over the past few seasons but a transfer deal has failed to materialise.
The Red Devils came close to signing Perisic in the 2017 summer transfer window but Manchester United failed to match Inter’s asking price for the 29-year-old.
Perisic helped Croatia to reach the World Cup final with a goal in a 2-1 extra-time win over England in the last four to knock out Gareth Southgate’s side.
The 29-year-old got on the score sheet in Croatia’s 4-2 loss to France in the World Cup final to firmly put his name on the global stage after an impressive tournament.
Inter have a strong Croatian presence at the San Siro in the shape of Perisic, Sime Vrsaljko and Marcelo Brozovic, while Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has been linked with a switch to the 2010 Champions League winners.
BBC Sport reporter Stone ruled out Manchester United signing Perisic before transfer deadline day on Thursday.
Stone wrote on Twitter: “Told nothing happening re Utd and Perisic at moment.”
Manchester United finished in second spot in the Premier League table last term.
