Man United in discussions to complete fourth Man United signing – report
Manchester United are holding discussions with Bayern Munich over a deal to sign Jerome Boateng, according to a report in England
Manchester United are in talks with Bayern Munich to sign Jerome Boateng in the summer transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Bundesliga champions are looking to secure a £50m transfer fee for the World Cup winner this summer.
The same article states that Manchester United could yet suffer more frustration in the transfer window, with Bayern unwilling to sell Boateng unless a replacement is identified.
According to the same story, Jose Mourinho has grown increasingly frustrated after Manchester United were unable to negotiate a deal to sign Yerry Mina, Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld.
While Manchester United have to adhere to the Premier League’s 9 August deadline, Bayern have until 31 August to locate a replacement for Boateng should the Bundesliga side opt to sell.
The Red Devils have made three signings in the summer transfer window so far following their second place finish in the Premier League table last season.
Manchester United signed FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal to improve Mourinho’s options at full-back.
The Red Devils have also spent £52m on Brazilian and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
The 20-time English champions completed a surprise swoop to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant.
