Duncan Castles makes Jose Mourinho Man United transfer claim
The Sunday Times reporter claims Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is frustrated with their summer business so far
Jose Mourinho is growing increasingly frustrated with Manchester United’s lack of summer signings, according to Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles.
The Portuguese head coach has been in a foul mood in pre season to raise questions about his future at Old Trafford.
Mourinho has stated his unhappiness at the lack of arrivals at Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have signed Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant this summer.
However, the Red Devils have failed to strengthen key areas such as the right wing and left back to leave Mourinho frustrated.
Mourinho led Manchester United to their best finish since the Sir Alex Ferguson era last term but ended the season without a trophy.
Sunday Times journalist Castles shed light on Mourinho’s increasing frustrations in the current transfer window.
“Mourinho is extremly unhappy with the transfer dealings at Man United,” Castles told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“He wanted a lot more reinforcement in this window than he has got so far. He is putting pressure on the board to complete at least one signing.”
Manchester United lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term following Eden Hazard’s winner from the penalty spot.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
Manchester United will start the new Premier League campaign with a clash against Leicester City.
