Sky Sports News reporter: Man United could look to sign 31-year-old Serie A star
Manchester United are considering a deal to sign AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci, according to Michael Bridge
Manchester United could look to sign AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci if the Red Devils miss out on their top targets this summer, according to Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move to sign a centre-half in the summer transfer window but Jose Mourinho has missed out on his top targets so far.
Manchester United have been left frustrated in negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld, with Spurs demanding £75m.
England’s World Cup star Harry Maguire has also been touted as a potential target for Mourinho but Leicester City are thought to be reluctant to sell the defender.
Manchester United could turn to Bonucci after the Italy international made it clear that he wants to leave AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports News reporter Bridge believes Manchester United could still sign Bonucci as a potential alternative to Alderweireld and Maguire.
“There could be Premier League interest if Leicester don’t do business with Maguire and Tottenham don’t do business with Alderweireld,” Bridge told the Transfer Talk podcast.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC.
The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last season following Eden Hazard’s winner from the spot.
