Jose Mourinho has informed Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo that he wants the defensive duo to remain at Old Trafford, according to a report in England.
ESPN, as quoted by the Sun, is reporting that the Manchester United boss has completed a U-turn after deciding to keep Darmian and Rojo at the 20-time English champions.
The same article states that Mourinho wants Darmian and Rojo to remain at Old Trafford until the January transfer window to help ease his defensive headache.
According to the same story, the Manchester United is willing to allow Darmian and Rojo to make their own decision on the future before the end of August.
Manchester United were 2-1 winners against Leicester City in their Premier League opener courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw.
The Red Devils signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto teenager Diogo Dalot and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but ended up a long way behind champions Manchester City.
