Manchester United are ready to battle it out with Arsenal to sign FC Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Arsenal are keen on a potential deal to sign the France international from the La Liga champions this summer.
The same article states that Arsenal would more than likely struggle to afford a deal to sign the 21-year-old attacker after FC Barcelona slapped a £89m price tag.
According to the same story, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring Dembele to Old Trafford to improve his options on the wing ahead of the new season.
Arsenal have been regularly linked with a swoop to sign the France international from FC Barcelona after his mixed debut season at The Emirates following his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
FC Barcelona completed a deal to sign Brazilian forward Malcom from French side Bordeuax last week to open up the possiblity of Dembele leaving despite spending over £100m on the Dortmund star in 2017.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
