FC Barcelona chief replies to talk of signing Man United star Paul Pogba
FC Barcelona director Ariedo Braida rules out FC Barcelona signing Manchester United star Paul Pogba
FC Barcelona have no plans to sign Paul Pogba before the close of La Liga’s summer transfer window, according to the Spanish club’s director Ariedo Braida.
The Manchester United star has been linked with a potential move to the La Liga champions over the past few weeks following the latest setback in his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese head coach hasn’t been afraid to criticise his club record signing over the past two seasons since Pogba’s return to Manchester United in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus.
The 25-year-old helped France to win the World Cup back in July after Pogba scored in a 4-2 win over Croatia to secure his national team’s second major title since 1998.
Pogba was linked with a potential move to FC Barcelona from Manchester United before the Premier League’s transfer window shut last week.
FC Barcelona director Braida has ruled out the Catalan side signing Pogba before the close of Spain’s transfer window this summer.
“I don’t think we’re going to move for Pogba, but he’s a great player,” said Braida.
Pogba scored from the penalty in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford last Friday.
The Red Devils will make the trip to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
