Chris Sutton believes Manchester United should prioritise keeping Paul Pogba over Jose Mourinho.
The Reds Devils are verging on a crisis following a disappointing start to the Premier League season.
Manchester United were 2-1 winners against Leicester City in their season opener to make a promising start.
However, the 20-time English champions suffered a 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend to heap pressure on Mourinho.
Pogba’s future has been called into question throughout most of 2018 following criticism from his Manchester United manager.
The Portuguese head coach hasn’t been afraid to critique his club record’s lack of discipline in the middle of the park.
Manchester United were faced with interest from FC Barcelona in the summer transfer window but a deal failed to materialise.
Asked who was more valuable to Man United, the former Chelsea FC striker Sutton was clear that Mourinho should be the first to go.
“Absolutely Jose,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live. “Man United need to keep Pogba.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
The Red Devils are six points behind current Premier League leaders Liverpool FC after the Merseyside outfit were 1-0 winners against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening.
