Manchester United have turned their attentions towards signing Colombia defender Yerry Mina from FC Barcelona, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Red Devils are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new players this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
Manchester United finished second and without a trophy last term and Mourinho has been tasked with steering the Red Devils to their first Premier League title since 2013.
The Red Devils have been credited with an interest in signing Mina in recent days after having previously been linked with the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire.
And Sky Sports News reporter Sheth has delivered the latest update on Manchester United’s search for a new defender this summer.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth said: “The interest in Maguire came at a time when there was a stalemate with Spurs over Alderweireld.
“The interest in Mina came at a time when Leicester made it clear Maguire is not for sale.”
Manchester United have been linked with lots of players this summer but have so far only tied up deals for Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge but struggled to find consistent form last term.
