The Daily Mirror is reporting that the north London club have been keeping a close eye on the highly-rated 20-year-old as Unai Emery begins to think about bolstering his squad in the new year.
The winger was selected for the Senegal team at this summer’s World Cup in Russia and he has apparently been catching the eye of the Gunners’ scouting staff.
However, the same story claims that Arsenal are likely to face competition from the likes of Inter Milan for Sarr’s signature.
It is also claimed in the same article that Rennes currently value the attacker at around £20m – and they do not want to let him leave in the January transfer window.
According to the same story, Sarr has “caught the eye” of a number of Premier League clubs, but it is Arsenal who are now leading the chase for his signature.
Sarr has scored two goals and made one assist in eight appearances for Rennes in all competitions so far this season.
Arsenal are likely to be keen to add to their squad in the January transfer window as Emery looks to build a team capable of finishing in the top four.
The Gunners return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host high-flying Watford at The Emirates.
