The France international has scored two goals in six appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
Lacazette got on the score sheet in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium last weekend after an impressive performance.
The former Lyon star has started to build an understanding with his Arsenal strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 27-year-old endured a stop-start first season at Arsenal after Arsene Wenger showed a reluctance to play the French forward on a consistent basis.
Former Arsenal star Keown believes Lacazette has shown encouraging signs of progress under Wenger’s replacement Emery.
“When I was a young kid, I remember Peter Lorimer for his incredibly hard shots,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“We all want to know who is the quickest player in the Premier League, or who covers the greatest distance in a game. But who hits the ball the hardest? Whose shots are the fastest? Who has a cannon for a foot? I suspect Alexandre Lacazette would be up there.”
Keown added: “The Arsenal forward generates such power in his shooting, he punishes the ball when he hits it.
“It looks emphatic. It explodes off his foot. Lacazette hammers the ball towards goal and bang, it hits the target before you blink. That is one of his greatest weapons. He has impressed me so far.”
Arsenal made Lacazette their most expensive signing of all time when Wenger signed the France international in a £52m deal from Lyon in the 2017 summer transfer window.
However, the Gunners eclipsed that transfer fee when Arsenal spent a reported £58m on Aubameyang to sign the Gabon international from Borussia Dortmund.
The north London side haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Wenger led the Gunners to a famous unbeaten season.
Arsenal will take on Watford at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon with the chance to hoist themselves above the Hornets.
