The Uruguay international came off the bench to help Arsenal ease to 2-1 win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday last weekend.
The Gunners star has already won over the Arsenal supporters thanks to his combative performances in the middle of the park.
Torreira was a substitute in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham before his introduction inspired a 3-2 comeback victory at Cardiff City.
The 22-year-old moved to the Gunners in a £26m deal from Serie A side Sampdoria in the summer transfer window.
Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi have been favoured in the middle of the park despite Torreira’s impressive performances in the World Cup.
Former Everton midfielder Osman has urged Emery to give Torreira a chance to shine from the start in the Arsenal team.
“It needs to be soon [the first start]. You can see he makes a difference,” Osman told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive team.
The Gunners lost their opening two Premier League fixtures following defeats by Manchester City and Chelsea FC.
