Lucas Torreira was pleased to play his role in helping Arsenal claim a 3-2 win over Cardiff this on Sunday

Lucas Torreira has taken to social media to celebrate Arsenal’s battling 3-2 victory over Cardiff City at the weekend.

The Uruguay midfielder has been settling into life at The Emirates after having signed for the Gunners from Sampdoria in the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old is yet to start for Arsenal in the Premier League this season but he has come on as a substitute in all four of their top flight outings so far.

Torreira came off the bench to notch up an assist on Sunday as he helped Unai Emery’s men record back to back wins in the top flight for the first time this season.

And the midfielder was clearly delighted to play his part as he helped Arsenal to claim all three points at the weekend.

Torreira posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Another victory worked and achieved ➕3️⃣ come on gunners 💪🏻⚽️ #WeAreTheArsenal 🔴 #LT11.”

Torreira will be hoping to earn his first start of the season for the Gunners when they take on Newcastle United away from home after the international break.

Emery has been tasked with steering the Gunners into the top four after they finished sixth and without a trophy last term.
