John Barnes is tipping Arsenal to miss out on a top four finish in the Premier League this season.

The north London side are currently getting used to life under new manager Unai Emery following his appointment as Arsene Wenger’s successor back in May.

Arsenal have made something of a mixed start to the new Premier League season, with Emery’s side having won their last two games against West Ham and Cardiff after having slipped to back to back defeats by Manchester City and Chelsea FC.

Emery has been tasked with steering Arsenal back into the top four in the Premier League after they finished sixth and without a trophy last term under Wenger.

However, former Liverpool FC star Barnes believes that the Gunners are poised to miss out on a top four finish in the Premier League.

Asked where he thinks Arsenal will finish this season, Barnes told the Daily Express: “I think Arsenal will miss out.”

Arsenal will return to Premier League action after the international break when the Gunners take on Newcastle United away from home this weekend.

The north London side have not won the Premier League since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04.
