After a goalless first half at The Emirates, Lacazette netted a superb strike in the 56th minute to send the Gunners on their way towards victory.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then made it 2-0 just three minutes later as Unai Emery’s men picked up their fourth win in a row in the Premier League in front of their home fans.
The victory lifted Arsenal up into sixth place in the Premier League table and left them with 12 points from their first six games of the new campaign.
And Lineker, who knows a thing or two about scoring goals, was clearly impressed by the France international’s finish on Sunday afternoon.
Lineker wrote on Twitter after Lacazette netted the opener: “Been a long wait for a goal today, but that is a stunning finish by Lacazette.”
Arsenal will now turn their attentions to League Cup affairs and their third-round clash against Brentford on Wednesday night at The Emirates.
The north London side are aiming to at least break back into the top four this season after they ended up in sixth place in the table and without a trophy in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge.
