Arsenal star Mesut Ozil shares childhood photo on Instagram

Mesut Ozil takes to social media to share an emotional picture of himself playing football as a young kid

Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to share an emotional photo of himself playing football as a young kid.

The Arsenal attacker is widely considered to be one of the Premier League’s top playmakers, despite the 29-year-old having regularly come in for criticism for his failure to product consistent performances for the Gunners.

Ozil is now adapting to life under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery at The Emirates as he bids to try and help the Gunners enjoy a successful first campaign under the Spanish boss.

Emery has been tasked with steering Arsenal back into the top four of the Premier League at the very least this season after they finished sixth and without a trophy under Arsene Wenger last term.

Ozil will be aiming to try and help Arsenal make it three wins in a row in the Premier League when the Gunners return to top flight action after the international break with a trip to Newcastle United.

And the playmaker was clearly feeling in a reminiscent mood as he posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Friday.

Ozil shared the snap above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Throwback to the time I dreamed of being a professional football player one day 🙏🏼⚽ #Gelsenkirchen #childhood #thankful #Bolzplatzjunge.”
