The German playmaker’s situation at The Emirates has been a constant source of debate in recent weeks due to his stuttering form for the north London side.
Ozil missed Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham United last weekend due to illness but he is now in contention to return to be available for selection for the Gunners’ trip to Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon.
The 29-year-old has regularly been criticised for his failure to produce consistent performances for the north London side in recent seasons.
However, Emery has insisted that he is very happy with what he has seen from Ozil so far this season as the Gunners prepare for their trip to Wales this weekend.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Emery said: “In this situation with Mesut Ozil it is clear, he is OK, he has the commitment we want, he is a very important player for us and we want to help him to give us the best performance in each match and each moment.”
Arsenal are looking to try and break back into the top four this season as they bid to try and secure Champions League qualification for next season.
The north London side finished in sixth place and without a trophy last term under Arsene Wenger before the Frenchman decided to step down at the end of last season.
