Unai Emery has revealed that he prioritising trophies ahead of finishing in the top four in his first season in charge at Arsenal.

The north London side are currently getting used to life under their new manager after he was brought in as Arsene Wenger’s successor at the end of last season.

Emery’s side will be aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished outside the Champions League qualification spots for the last two campaigns running.

Arsenal will also be aiming to challenge for silverware in the Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup this season, with a title challenge in the Premier League most probably out of reach.

And the Spanish boss has insisted that he is focused on helping Arsenal win trophies this season rather than only finish in the top four.

Asked whether he would rather return to the Champions League by finishing in the top four or winning the Europa League, Emery told Sky Sports News: “One choice? For me, the Europa League is very important.

“It is one title and I think for us, every title is the best way, the best performance, the best future.”

Arsenal will now turn their focus to League Cup affairs and their third-round clash with Brentford at The Emirates on Wednesday night.

The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign under Wenger.
