Aaron Ramsey looks set to leave Arsenal on a free transfer next summer after talks about a new contract broke down, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that talks over a new contract for the Wales midfielder have broken down and that there is now no offer on the table for a new deal.

According to the same story, the 27-year-old had been willing to stay at The Emirates and commit his future to the north London side – and the club were “confident” of reaching an agreement in the next few weeks.

However, the same article reports that there has been a “sudden change” and discussions between the club and the player have now broken down.

It is claimed that there is now no offer of a new contract on the table for Ramsey at The Emirates, meaning that he is likely to leave the club for nothing when his current deal expires next summer.

According to the same story, the breakdown in talks is not because Ramsey turned down the offer of a new contract at the north London club.

Meanwhile, Ramsey will be expecting to start for Arsenal when the Gunners take on Watford in front of their home fans in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at The Emirates.
