Cesc Fabregas opens up on his ‘nightmare’ at Chelsea FC
Cesc Fabregas admits that his knee injury has been something of a nightmare for the Chelsea FC midfielder
Cesc Fabregas has admitted that the injury situation that has kept him out of action for Chelsea FC has been something of a “nightmare” for the midfielder.
The 31-year-old did not feature from the start in any of Chelsea FC’s first five Premier League games this term after having struggled with a knee problem in recent weeks.
Fabregas has been training hard behind the scenes at Cobham as he looks to make himself available to start for new manager Maurizio Sarri.
And the former Arsenal captain has admitted that the start to the new campaign has not been ideal for the midfielder.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Chelsea FC’s website, Fabregas said: “It was frustrating and it’s been a little bit of a nightmare to be honest, but now I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
“It seems like it’s nearly gone.”
Chelsea FC will kick off their Europa League group stage campaign on Thursday night when they take on PAOK away from home.
The Blues will be looking to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season as they look to try and enjoy a strong campaign under new boss Sarri.
The west London side ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table and won the FA Cup last season under Antonio Conte before he was sacked and replaced by Sarri back in July.
