The England international got on the score sheet in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea FC in the Carabao Cup third round at Anfield last week.
However, the 29-year-old dropped to the bench after Mohamed Salah was restored to Jurgen Klopp’s starting line up for the trip to the English capital on Saturday afternoon.
Sturridge came off the bench in the second half against his former club as Liverpool FC looked to conjure an equaliser in a game that the visitors largely dominated.
And the former Chelsea FC striker produced a moment of magic to secure a point for the Reds after Sturridge dispatched a long-range effort past Kepa with minutes to play.
Sturridge, who has now scored three goals in all competitions this season, took to Twitter to reflect on his equaliser at Stamford Bridge.
Sturridge wrote on Twitter: “What a game to be a part of man 😎The boys work their socks off and we deserved that point. Didn’t celebrate today got caught up the other day but I respect Chelsea for everything they did for me. Love to the travelling #lfc fans top class today! In God I trust always ❤️🙌🏾”
Sturridge moved to Liverpool FC in a £12m from Chelsea FC in the 2013 January transfer window under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.
The Reds striker has now scored 50 times in 103 games in the Premier League for the Merseyside outfit.
