Paul Merson has named Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard as the best player in the Premier League.

The Belgium international have made a brilliant start to the Premier League campaign despite participating in the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Hazard scored five goals in Chelsea FC’s opening five games to make a promising start to the season under new Blues manager Maurizio Sarri.

The 27-year-old failed to find the net in a goalless draw with West Ham at the London Stadium in the Premier League last weekend.

However, Hazard came off the bench to score a sensational winner in Chelsea FC’s 2-1 win over Liverpool FC at Anfield in the Carabao Cup third round.

Former Arsenal star Merson believes Hazard is easily the best player in the Premier League.

“I think Hazard is the best player in the Premier League by a long way,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“I don’t think anyone can do what he does and that’s what makes him better than everyone else in my opinion.

“On Wednesday, he beat three players, passed it, got it back and then beat two more players before smashing it in the corner.

“For me, no one else can do that in the Premier League. There are players who can go past people but they haven’t got that end product he’s got.”

Hazard was linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer but a deal failed to materialise.

The Blues forward will enter the final 12 months of his Chelsea FC contract next summer.

The west London outfit lost Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to los Blancos in August after the shot stopper allowed his contract to enter the final year at Stamford Bridge.
