Marcos Alonso has revealed that Cesc Fabregas, Cesar Azpilecueta and David Luiz all play a vital role in maintaining Chelsea’s dressing room morale.

The Blues have made a flawless start to the new Premier League season under new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri following his appointment in July.

The west London side have won their opening five Premier League games to secure top spot in the table ahead of title rivals Liverpool FC on goal difference.

Chelsea FC were 3-2 winners against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last month in what was their sternest test of the new campaign under Sarri so far.

The Blues endured a difficult second season under Antonio Conte after the west London side finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table.

Alonso revealed that Fabregas, Azpilcueta and Luiz are vital characters in the dressing room following the departure of iconic club captain John Terry.

“John Terry used to do this very well,” Alonso told Chelsea FC’s website.

“In my first year he was very good for us even if he didn’t play that much. Off the pitch he played a huge part in us winning the title and I think now Fabregas, Azpi and David Luiz are all good characters in the changing room.”

Chelsea FC will look to maintain their 100 per cent start to the Premier League season when the Blues take on West Ham United in the London derby in Stratford on Sunday.

The Blues were 4-1 winners against promoted side Cardiff City in their last outing following Eden Hazard’s hat-trick.
