Jamie Carragher names Chelsea FC striker as one of most underrated players
The Liverpool FC legend lavished praise on Chelsea FC striker Olivier Giroud is an underrated player

Jamie Carragher has described Chelsea FC striker Olivier Giroud as one of the most underrated players in the Premier League.
The France international moved to the west London side in a £21m deal from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Giroud netted five goals in 18 games in all competitions in the second half of the 2017-18 season to help the Blues win the FA Cup.
Maurizio Sarri took over the reins from Antonio Conte in the summer to give Alvaro Morata a new lease of life at Stamford Bridge.
Morata has started four of their five Premier League games so far, limiting Giroud to appearances off the bench in the English top flight so far.
The France striker has made three assists to help the Blues maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.
Giroud’s height and strength is a useful attribute to allow the Chelsea FC striker to bring his team-mates into the game.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher highlighted why Giroud is one of the Premier League’s most underrated players.
“I have always felt that he was one of the most underrated players in the Premier League, even when he was at Arsenal,” Carragher told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
“He is not world class even though he has now won the World Cup, he is just short of that.
“But whether it’s as a second striker or as a first striker as he may now be at Chelsea, he’s a fantastic player and Hazard speaking like that about him shows what he thinks too.”
Giroud netted 105 goals in 253 games in all competitions during five and a half seasons at the north London side.
Chelsea FC will make a short trip to West Ham United at London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
