Loftus-Cheek scored two goals and made three assists in 24 appearances for the Eagles in the English top flight last term.
His performances under Roy Hodgson earned the 21-year-old a place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad in the summer.
Loftus-Cheek started three games in the World Cup against Belgium and Panama to earn rave reviews ahead of his return to Chelsea FC.
However, new Blues manager Sarri has used the England international sparingly after the versatile midfielder made two substitute appearances.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand believes Loftus-Cheek needs to be challenging Sarri over his lack of opportunities this term.
“Look at Jadon Sancho, he’s tearing up the Bundesliga!” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“If I’m Ruben Loftus-Cheek I’m banging down the manager’s door!”
