Jamie Carragher believes Maurizio Sarri’s decision to change N’Golo Kante’s position to accommodate Jorginho indicates the Italian wants Chelsea FC to play attractive football.

The Blues signed the Italy international in a £57m deal from Serie A giants Napoli in the 2018 summer transfer window despite the plethora of options in the middle of the park.

Kante has been a huge hit at Stamford Bridge since his move to Chelsea FC from Leicester City in 2016 after the holding midfielder helped the Blues to win the Premier League title.

Sarri has slotted Jorginho into the Blues team in a defensive midfield role and pushed Kante further up the pitch to use his dynamism to support the Chelsea FC attack.

The Italian playmaker has been a big hit at Chelsea FC over the past six weeks following a 100 per cent start to the Premier League season.

Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher discussed Sarri’s decision to move Kante up the pitch to ensure Jorginho can start in his best position.

“He [Jorginho] looks a class act,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“When a manager comes in you can already tell his style if he goes with that type of player in the holding midfield role, a passer rather than N’Golo Kante who is more someone who can break things up.

“He has moved Kante’s position to get him in there and I think that shows how he wants to go forward with the team.”

Chelsea FC have beaten Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Cardiff City and Newcastle United in the Premier League so far this season.

The Blues are sitting at the top of the Premier League table ahead of Liverpool FC on goal difference.
