Michael Owen is tipping Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC to play out a high-scoring game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

The Reds will make the long trip to the English capital to take on the Premier League’s third-placed team.

Liverpool FC have won their opening six Premier League games to secure top spot in the table ahead of their journey to west London.

Jurgen Klopp’s side passed their first real test of the season when Liverpool FC were comfortable 2-1 winners against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley earlier this month.

Chelsea FC could have a psychological edge after the Blues came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Klopp’s men in the League Cup third round at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Blues were 1-0 winners against Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2017-18 season despite a difficult second season under Antonio Conte.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen believes Chelsea FC will play out a high-scoring game with the Premier League leaders.

“The biggest game of the PL season to date with Liverpool looking to become just the second side in the history of the PL to win their first seven league games,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Note the other was Chelsea in the 2005-06 season who won their first nine league games en route to the title.

“The Reds have not kept a clean sheet in their last 14 league games with Chelsea and this is the biggest test yet of Liverpool’s title credentials.

“Eden Hazard has scored four times in his last two home PL games and Liverpool need to keep the Blues talisman at arm’s length. I expect to see goals in what promises to be a cracker.”

Liverpool FC have beaten West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Leicester, Tottenham and Southampton in their opening six Premier League fixtures.

Chelsea FC dropped their first points of the Premier League campaign following a 0-0 draw with West Ham.
